Kingston-born Likkle Lightning steps out of Jamaica releasing debut single,‘Sunshine’, from his upcoming album, ‘Conditions Of Life’. ‘Conditions Of Life’ was produced by Likkle Lightning at the legendary Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, Jamaica; famous for its affiliation with Bob Marley and other big names in reggae such as Damian Marley and Shaggy.
Several of these releases are already achieving airplay on cult reggae radio stations, Vibes Link, Irie FM, and HITZ, as well as obtaining coverage in The Star (Jamaica) and The Observer (Jamaica). It is only now that Likkle Lightning is setting his sights to strike the same thunder in the USA andEurope with his colorful brand of roots reggae; already performing alongside Everton Blender (Jamaican Music Award Nominee), Warrior King and veteran dancehall reggae artists King Yellowman and Professor Nuts.
Though Likkle Lightning was born in the capital city of Kingston, as a teenager he chose to move to the western rural farmland of Jamaica with his grandparents. This proved to influence Likkle Lightning greatly; taking inspiration from the nature surrounding him and learning the value of hard work to support his family, this is where Likkle Lightning honed his skills as a reggae songwriter and started his ascension in the Jamaican music scene.
Likkle Lightning is prominent in supporting today’s youth culture; appearing on anti-gun and anti-crime platforms in the UK such as Omega FM; in addition to promoting non-violence in his lyrics and live shows. Drawing influence from the likes of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Beres Hammond, Likkle Lightning has crafted a vibrant reggae sound with lyrics true to his own lifestyle which others have described as a refreshing throwback to what dancehall and reggae should all be about. His reggae is raw but refined, colorful and energizing, but most of all it’s real – real roots reggae straight from the source.
